Michael and Sherry Copeland

The Copelands joined ACBC in February 2020 shortly after moving to Houston from Plano, TX. They have both served in various capacities at several churches where they have lived including Arlington and Plano, TX, as well as Albuquerque, NM. Shortly after joining ACBC, Michael joined the praise team as the lead guitar player and Sherry began working in the ACBC Mothers’ Day Out (MDO) program where she currently teaches. Michael is now the praise and worship team leader responsible for coordinating, organizing, and leading the praise songs for each Sunday service, as well as our special events, such as Saturdays at the Creek. Michael was ordained as an ACBC deacon April 16, 2023. In his day job, Michael works as a principal transportation planner for a national transportation architecture, engineering, and planning firm. Michael grew up in Houston and Sherry grew up in Fort Worth, but they met at Texas A&M and are die-hard Aggies. They have been married for 38 years and have two grown sons – Spencer, 32, who is a doctor in the Detroit, MI area, and Cameron, 28, who is a commercial insurance broker.
